Name Change:
There has been a state-wide name change for all Child Care Resource & Referral agencies across Kansas in an effort to unify and increase recognition of the services that these agencies provide.  KACCRRA is now Child Care Aware.  The Northwest Kansas Child Care Resource & Referral is now Child Care Aware of Northwest Kansas. 

Fall eLearning Courses:
Kansas Children’s Service League will be offering a variety of instructor-led eLearning courses from August – November, 2010. These online courses provide KDHE approved in-service hours for licensed home or center based child care providers and early care and education professionals. Users are required to have internet access and a working email address.
 
Course Topics Include:
·         Child Abuse & Neglect, Recognition and Reporting (15 in-service hours)
·         Understanding Multiple Intelligences and Children’s Learning Styles (15 in-service hours)
·         Creating Positive Settings for Children and Families (15 in-service hours)
·         Cultural Competency for Working with Children and Families (15 in-service hours)
·         Understanding Children’s Temperament (15 in-service hours)
·         Strengthening Families: Understanding Risk and Protective Factors (10 in-service hours; participants must have completed the Child Abuse online class prior to taking this course)
 
The costs are $25 for professionals taking a course for in-service hours or $50 for professionals taking a course for early childhood CEU credits or college credits.
 
For professionals needing the additional credits, most courses are approved for 1.5 Early Childhood CEU credits or 1.0 hour of college credit. College tuition is paid for separately and directly to the partnered college.
